we where asked to watch the video "honest college ad" and read a satire about animal school.
the video was entertaining and funny. but with some crude dark humor. it was funny but only because its sad and true.
where they are making a point that other advertisements use the most photogenic places for there ads and the rest of the campus is not up to par.
or where the one student was throwing up in the toilet saying how his dad works three jobs to send him there. that's the sad part. because a lot of students
are in the same situation. just taking from there parents with out any real consideration of the burden that is placed on them.
the animal school satire I found more interesting and also strikingly serious at the same time. it emphasized that we are all expected to be average at least in all aspects of school
even though you may be strong in one area you are brought down because your not exceeding in another. this happens all the time to loads of students including myself. I may be doing great in certain classes
then realize that I need to focus harder on others. bringing their grade up slightly but bringing down the ones that I should be doing very well in. simply because my time gets disbursed to other areas of school.
I do agree that we should be well rounded and I have no suggestion on how to change the scenario but it does happen to a lot of students every semester and again is kind of sad.
